Convversations with the Archbishop

The world has known of the dangers of climate change for several decades.
Why has so little been achieved? Are we now on the verge of making progress?
Will the Pope’s recent encyclical have any impact?

Archbishop Philip Freier and public commentator Professor Robert Manne considered the political and economic obstacles to tackling climate change and their hopes for the December Paris summit, in a public conversation facilitated by ABC Radio host John Cleary on Wednesday 11 November. There was an incredible turnout.

Below is a photo from the event of Anglican Archbishop Frier, Robert Manne and Phil Cleary discussing the "groundbreaking" nature of Pope Francis "Laudato Si" and what "human flourishing" really means in a radically unequal, coal addicted and heavily polluted world. "The best thing that has been written on climate change" says Robert Manne.

Archbishop Philip Freier has made a habit of having important conversations that matter to all Australians and you can find some of them in his book Crossroads. Learn more here.

A great turn out
