For nearly twenty years, Sex and the Teenager: Choices and Decisions has been an extremely successful program for promoting abstinence and chastity among teenagers. Designed for use in a classroom, youth group, or retreat setting and rooted in Judeo-Christian and Catholic Church moral teaching, the program has a clear, straightforward goal: to encourage teens to say “No” to premarital sexual activity.
Topics covered include:
- How to tell the difference between love, infatuation, and exploitation, while cultivating friendship in male/female relationships.
- What to do on a date.
- The risks of teenage sexual activity with or without contraceptives.
- The necessity of setting moral limits and sticking to them.
The revised edition of Sex and the Teenager: Choices and Decisions includes discussion and action plans for teens dealing with challenges related to sexual activity faced in today’s society.
The program consists of a Leader’s Manual and a Participant’s Book. The Leader’s Manual includes a facilitator’s guide as well as handout sheets, retreat plans, games, music suggestions, online resource and more. The Participant’s Book contains the necessary information for each class and can also be used for reading, review, and study when situations do not allow coverage of the entire program. A panel for parents facilitates conversation with their teens and information on the essential material being covered.
