Biographical information on the back of the package:
Louise de Marillac was born into a wealthy French family in 1591. Though she pondered religious life, Louise married, had a son and lived a happy life. After 12 years of marriage, her husband sadly passed away. Widowed, Louise revisited the idea of becoming a nun. She met St. Vincent de Paul and began a life of service to the less fortunate. The two formed the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. They established convents, hospitals, schools and orphanages all over France, treating the poor as if they were serving Christ himself.
