BackAnzac Day is our national day of commemoration.
On Friday 25 April 2025, the Australian War Memorial will mark the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, as well as commemorating all Australians who have served in times of peace and war.

At dawn they gather.
The old men wearing their grandads’ medals,
The little ones wearing their grandads’ grandads’ medals.
And we buy the little red poppy pins,
And we spare a thought for Simpson’s donkey.
And we wonder about the world today,
How to stop war and the waste of young lives
How to honour the sacrifice of the brave
And the ones who came back scarred
And never talked about it.
