The good God did not write that we should be the honey of the earth, my boy, but the salt. Starting from this epigram by George Bernanos, Epicoco develops a provocative reflection on a certain ‘goody vision’ about faith. Christian life is much more than this, and this book explains what it means by re-reading concrete life experiences and some selected Bible episodes in the light of the three theological virtues: Faith, Hope and Charity.
The goal is not to provide a recipe for a perfect Christian life, but a trace and a provocation for the existence of each Christian, ie a pinch of salt: Christianity does not feed on jam more than a human being feeds on it… On a live skin salt burns, but it prevents skin from rotting.
This is a strong and provocative book by one of the freshest spiritual voices of our time.
This book is a best seller in Italy and the first English translation has been done here in Australia!
