Who is Jesus Christ for us today? By what names do we call him? Just as the early Christians developed different names for Jesus, so too must we discover the meaning of Jesus for our day. Jesus Christ Liberator is Boff’s distinctive contribution to contemporary Christology.

Leonardo Boff, a Brazilian theologian, was educated in his native Brazil and in Munich, Germany. A professor of theology in Petropolis, Brazil, he is author of numerous books, including Ecclesiogenesis, Introducing Liberation Theology, and Christianity in a Nutshell.
