The Sacraments are privileged moments of God’s grace in the Christian community. Celebrating Sacraments is designed to help tenth-graders cultivate awareness of the Sacraments in order to grow in their love of life and their faith in God. This third edition of the text includes revisions that give teens a greater understanding of the Seven Sacraments as extensions of Christ’s ministry to the world. The one-semester course also helps students participate in the Sacraments with an appreciation of the rituals. The teaching manual is an integral component of the course, and was designed to fully support the full-color student text .
For each chapter of the student text, the teaching manual provides the following information:
- a clear summary of each of the major concepts in the chapter, with references to numbered items in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
- student text reflection activities.
- additional activities for each major concept to support a multiple-intelligences approach to learning, including discussion questions, small-group activities, role-play situations and skits, case studies, suggestions for interviews and guest speakers, recommendations for audiovisual resources, writing activities, journal-keeping, and research projects.
- student handouts with photocopy masters on perforated pages at the end of the manual.
