Drawn from the 2017 conference of the College Theology Society at Salve Regina College in Rhode Island, this volume includes contributions by prominent academics, ecclesial figures, and social scientists such as Timothy Matovina, Bishop Stephen Blaire of Stockton, CA, and Patricia Wittberg, SC, of the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate, among others. These essays are a blend of historical analyses, theological investigations, and literary reflections, all seeking to parse the future of American Catholicism by reaching a greater understanding of its present moment.
Benjamin Peters is an associate professor of theology at the University of Saint Joseph (CT). He is the author of Called to Be Saints: John Hugo, the Catholic Worker, and a Theology of Radical Christianity.
Nicholas Rademacher is associate professor of religious studies and coordinator of the Social Justice minor at Cabrini University in Radnor, PA. He is co-editor of A Realist’s Church: Essays in Honor of Joseph A. Komonchak and author of Paul Hanly Furfey: Priest, Scientist, and Social Reformer.
