This little book collects, in a daily readings format, the writings of one the great medieval mystics of the English tradition, Walter Hilton. Hilton was a near contemporary of Julian of Norwich, and like Julian’s his writings address a depth and breadth of issues related to the spiritual life in a way that remains helpful today.
Fr Kevin Goodrich’s book has a brief introduction to Hilton and a collection of 50 excerpts from his writings. These can be used for meditation and reflection in longer or shorter periods as desired by the reader.

Fr Kevin Goodrich OP is a friar in the Anglican Order of Preachers and serves as Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, in Dubuque, Iowa. He is known for his sense of humor, engaging preaching style, and ability to relate spiritual concepts to the everyday challenges of life. Fr. Goodrich has served churches in a variety of pastoral roles, in urban, suburban, and rural settings. Prior to the pandemic, he also engaged in an itinerant ministry of preaching and teaching. He teaches in the Doctor of Ministry and lay pastor programs at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. His books include Cell Phone Spirituality: What Your Cell Phone Can Teach You About Life and God.
