The Becoming Catholic series provides support to parents, catechists, educators, and children preparing to receive the sacraments of Confirmation, Reconciliation and Eucharist.

The sacraments of initiation are major events in our Catholic faith journey. Parents, educators, and children are encouraged to explore how we celebrate each sacrament through values, experiences, and connection. Becoming Catholic offers an engaging, accessible, and interactive way for children to prepare for the sacraments with their families – their ‘domestic Church’ – and parishes.

Each book features clear instructions and information, complemented by colourful design and illustrations, and based on the themes: Preparing, Celebrating, Living. The ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ and ‘How to use this book’ sections are a great introduction for parents, before a deeper dive into the relevance of each sacrament in our lives today.

Fun and educational, the Becoming Catholic series provides educational text, activities, journaling, and an easy-to-follow guide for parents.

The third editions of the Becoming Catholic series includes:

  • updated information on changes to the sacraments and their celebration
  • new and illustrated activities at levelled reading age created by a practising RE educator
  • journalling pages for children to reflect on their faith journey and to share with parents
  • a clear guide for parents, simplified with suggestions for actions and thus enabling the Catholic ethos to be experienced
  • an updated design that keeps the series relevant for the modern classroom, parish and home.
