Brendan Byrne, SJ, taught New Testament for over three decades at Jesuit Theological College, Parkville, Victoria, within the (ecumenical) United Faculty of Theology. A former member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission (1990-96), he has published both technical and popular works on all four Gospels, on the Letters of Paul, and on Ignatian spirituality. He has been visiting Professor in Rome, Vietnam, and Kenya and is now Professor Emeritus of the University of Divinity (Melbourne). He continues to give the occasional classes, along with workshops and retreats to clergy, teachers, and parish communities around Australia.
